On Thursday the team and I are going to be headed to Mexico! We are driving 22 hours in a 15-passenger van with the six of us and Driver. We will be leaving at 5 in the morning and driving all the way to the Louisiana/Texas border where we will be camping in a national forest. We then wake up and drive to Brownsville, Texas where someone will bring us across the border to Mexico! This is a very special trip for me. I went to Matamoras when I was in 9th grade for my first mission trip! It was amazing and God really showed Himself to me that week! Also, I am in contact with the current Mexico team, so it will be nice to see them! We will arrive in Matamoras, Mexico on Friday night and we will stay with the FYM team that is ministering there. We will do all the ministry that they are involved in and we will help out where help is needed. Then that following Thursday we will leave and we will be headed to New Orleans and we will get to check out all the ministries that are going on down there that are affiliated with AIM. We will then be arriving back in Gainesville on December 8.

Please pray for us while we are down there! Pray that we make it across the border without any problems. Pray that we connect with the team and the people we will be coming in contact with! Pray that our own team can connect and grow together through this experience! Things in our community are looking up!

I will be putting up blog updates while I am down in Mexico!

Also, I really miss my parents doing my laundry! It is a ridiculous amount of work!

  1. This is going to be a great experience. We’re excited that you can go and experience how God will use all of you from Gainsville and how you’ll see His hand in this trip. You’re missing COLD weather back home, so enjoy the warmth.

  2. Thanks for the updates…..good to hear from
you and know how to pray as you reach out in
    various places.

I understand the clothes washing problem!!!
When our oldest, Joanne, went away to college as we were leaving her for the first
time, I said: “Don’t forget to change your
sheets and keep the wash up.” To that our
twins (then 13) exclaimed: “Isn’t there maid
    service?” Too many hotel/motel trips!!!!

  3. Ok, no beans while you are in the van 🙁 midnight departure, what were u thinking, be safe, i will be praying, missing u already.
